60 HZ
Attended a Kansas City Art Crawl and chanced into the gallery of artist Jim Woodfill. His gallery was a wonderland of kinetic light sculptures. Lights were swinging, dancing and flying around the room and I was memorized. We talked awhile about capturing his work on film. The project waited on hold until I met Gene Ertel, who was the perfect cinema photographer for the project.
60 HZ was shot on 16mm black and white film featuring a sound track by Jim Woodfill. It screened at the SXSW Film Festival in the experimental film division. It was parodied the next year by a young filmmaker, which I considered the ultimate complement.
