KC Crossroads - A Tale of BBQ and The Blues
Director Fred Andrews love letter to Kansas City.
Fred Andrews loved film.  As he entered the final stages of his battle with terminal cancer, rather than waiting to die, he embarked on making a documentary tribute to the city he loved. Working with veteran photographer Rick Wheaton and co-producers ML Bass and John Sjoblom. Fred wrote, directed and produced KC Crossroads - A Tale of BBQ and the Blues.  The film features Kansas City's BB's Lawnside BBQ and includes  interviews with owner Lindsay Shannon, and Chuck Haddix, host of The Fish Fry on KCUR, and musicians Tom "Trashmouth" Baker, Millage Gilbert and Danielle Nicole.   Narrated by Kansas City Mayor Sly James the film highlights the blending of music and flavors that makes this wonderful  city unique.

Director Fred Andrews died on February 24, 2016 the afternoon before the screening  of a rough cut of the film for cast and crew.  Major Sly James read a proclamation  declaring the date  'Fred Andrews Day'. at the screening.  The film will screen at the 2016 Kansas City Filmfest, a film festival Fred founded in 1996.
